Get Prequalified for a Mortgage
The first and most important step in buying a home is getting prequalified for a home loan. With the market changing on a daily basis, this should be your very first step, even before looking at homes. What’s the point of looking for a home if you cannot get a mortgage? Also it will give us the appropriate amount of time to help you fix what’s holding you back from getting a mortgage, if that situation arises.
You have a few options once you decided to get prequalified, you can go to the bank or Credit Union that you currently do business with, or chose a mortgage broker. The problem with choosing a specific banks or Credit Unions is that they only have very specific loan programs and cannot shop outside of their company for the best deal.
We have had the best success working with brokers who can shop for the lowest rate, best loan program between all the different banks and FHA loan programs. We work with primarily two different lenders Frank Giuliano of American Mortgage Alliance and Brian Scheer of Eagle Nationwide Mortgage.
